Photography and To-do lists

To-Do List ng matalinong tao kaya lang medyo tamad. (To-Do list of a smart but somewhat lazy person.)

As of today, I have decided to try to take more pictures, even with a busy academic schedule coming up. There are lots of reasons why I shouldn’t do this, and there are an equal amount of reason why I should. I want to pursue photography, even if not professionally. I am a photography hobbyist after all. This is my passion, and I want it to be a part of my life as much as possible.

I do not have pro-level or fancy gear, or even those cool film cameras other people use. I have a Canon G10, which I love to use. My mom occasionally lets me borrow her Nikon D40. I love using cameras of different types, because every camera is a new experience, in journey and in type.

The only editing I do on my photos is place that little watermark on the bottom. That’s the way I like it. No auto-leveling, blurring, or even sharpening. This is all in the camera and my skill so far.

I want to take beautiful pictures in varying styles, in ways that I have always admired various sights. This is why I am a photographer. This is my ultimate goal - one I would be proud to tell people I want to achieve. So, the first thing I would put on this to-do list (for every day of my life) would be “Take a photo and smile.”

Photography is an extension of me, my medium for self-expression.
