Bon Odori 2015

Just this weekend, my friends and I attended this Japanese festival--Bon Odori--for the second year in a row. It was held at Manila Japanese School, and you can really feel the authenticity of whole event not only through the ambiance, but also the people there.

People didn't really need to wear a yukata (or the like) to attend. Casual wear was pretty much common there, aside from the costumes and uniforms of those who were going to perform. Cosplaying wasn't allowed there though, which I completely understand.

This is a cultural event after all, not a convention.

There were lots of food available. I wanted to try them all, but sadly, my wallet did not agree with my wish. Maybe next year, I'll be able to try more... I hope.

There were also some really cute stuff being sold there!

Lastly, the fireworks display at the end was phenomenal. We honestly thought that there were some electrical difficulties because all the lights and sounds suddenly went out. Then BOOM! A wonderful and bright display of colours exploded into the sky.

It was a great day, and I loved every moment of it.

Stay awesome and keep smiling,
Nico
